Auto darkening welding helmets
I'm looking for an auto darkening welding helmet but I don't know which ones are good or what features are worth having. I only weld
occasionally, all mig 160a, I would like to grind with it on also.I had a look on the web/bay and found
4 FUNCTION SOLAR AUTO DARKENING WELDING HELMET MASK on eBay (end time 12-Feb-11 22:09:02 GMT)
And also
Mask2
So comments please with recommendations if people have recently bought and used them.
I don't want to pay more than £60/70 but this is the locust site so less is better still
Cheers Pete

I bought a cheapie like the first one you linked and it's been very good for the past 3 or 4 years
Didn't have a grinding setting on mine which would be very handy!

I got one when they first came out, which cost over £100. Ive still got it and love it.
Ive also had the cheaper ones, and they are a bit more temperamental, but still good.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

I had a similar helmet to the ebay one, which died after about 4 years. The only things not to like about it were the adjustment on the outside of
the helmet could get inadvertently changed and it was not as sensitive to the arc as the new one I replaced it with, even though the new one only has
2 sensors as well.
I replaced it with one of these:

Which is about A$150 in Australia all the controls are on the inside. which is good and as I said its way more sensitive to the arc then the last one.
