Hi i have a chance of V6 cosworth, currently living in an auto grannie, and was wondering will it fit to a type 9 box and what are the clutch/bearing
combinations. If not what box is needed.

Will fit, requires a 2.8 flywheel (thinner) or 2.9 flywheel from a ford v6. You also require a spiggot bearing, you can buy one from fords.
edit:
btw be careful, there are about 3 different spigot bearing sizes! I got given one too small internally initially, caused a problem getting it in.

And you want the V6 type 9. From a 2.8, (not 2.3) as it has the longer first gear

the type 9 i have is currently fitted to my 1.6 pinto so thats what i will have to fit it to, just had a measure of the chassis (lolocost similar to
early RH) and it looks very tight .

The input shaft on a 4 pot type 9 box will not be long enough to pick up with the spigot bearing. You will need to get an adapter machined up that
goes into the spigot bearing hole and allows you to bring the spigot bearing further forward. You'll also need the input shaft sleeve off a v6
type 9 box or put a press on extension onto the 4 pot sleeve as it won't be long enough for the clutch release bearing to travel on. The spline
position on the input shaft you can get away with.
I had to have the adapter made up when I mated a 4 pot type 9 tran-x box to a 2.8 v6.
Edit: I assume you know you'll need a v6 bellhousing anyway

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.
