Odiham Autosolo and Sprint 3/9/11
Guys, FDMC in conjunction with Odiham Car Club are running these at RAF Odiham on Sat 3rd.
They are new events so if you want a good, local motorsport venue NOW is the time to support it.
The Solo is being staged very much as an introductory event.
At £35 entry (incl. a charitable donation) plus FDMC membership at c£20 for the year it has to be one of the cheapest entry-level motorsport
categories.
There's no need for a competition licence and virtually any road-worthy car can be Solo'ed - in fact seeing Nissan Micras three wheeling
it round the cones puts them in a whole different light. No sticky tyres allowed and cars must be driven to the event.
There are still places left but don't delay as last minute entries can fill the places.
As far as I know spectators are welcome - just bear in mind that being an operational RAF base you and passengers will need photo ID.
Entry just off the B3349 South of the main entrance - follow the red FDMC arrows.
If you haven't already gathered it Autosolos are HUGE fun.
Action starts at 0800hrs if signing on, 0900hrs for the event proper and closes about 1700hrs.
See you there even if just dropping in to see what it's all about?
We'll be there in the F27 now it's recovered.
Cheers, Pewe
JeffW VV in the A/solo regs it says that "spectators are prohibited from all areas other than the Paddock Enclosure" which sounds as if
they are allowed but not to roam. Certainly at the 1/4 mile earlier in the year they allowed spectators albeit restricted to the paddock area which by
it's nature was fairly extensive.
Anyone wanting to spectate and I'll make enquiries for a definite from the Organisers.
You can always compete of course!
Also worth noting that, being an operational base, any work on the car has to be done on a tarp which you supply.

The Sprint Finals say that no spectators are allowed.
"This is an operational RAF base and spectators are
not permitted. Please ensure that your support
teams understand this and stay within the paddock
area."
