quick question

right talking to a friend today at work he talks a load of poo he got a 1990 ford escort rs turbo rag top nice car so the question i want to find out is what the weight of the nomal rs turbo and the weight of the rag top one he said the rag top one would be less lol like i said he talks poo i hope i not wrong

erm solidtop is 940 i belive and the convertable is 1079 all in kg by the way

Convertibles tend to carry a lot of internal bracing to stop the remaining bodywork flapping around... so it's probably heavier than the normal saloon.

The roof structure adds a lot of strength and stiffness to the chassis. Removing it means having to add a lot of strengthening to the floor area.

My old boss had one with a soft top, it was a metalic pinkish

He was a poof though

I should of said, he still is a poof though

It's quite possible to get that sort of power from a CVH but it would either be quite an expensive exercise or have the reliability of a grenade with a loose pin. Or more likely he's spouted the first number in his head...

Correct! Ask to see his Dyno plot, that usually shuts them up. My son used to keep his in the glove box of his 285bhp MR2 Turbo.
That also shuts them up

That motorbase info on the rs turbo cabriolet is rubbish, there were no ford factory RS turbo cabrios, in this country or anywhere else!
