Teesside Autodrome troubles?
Any one know what's happening at Teesside? I emailed them a few times over the past six weeks but got no reply and now the webby says:
quote:
Trackdays at Teesside Autodrome - thetrackdayclub.com
This site is currently offline! Due to circumstances beyond our control we do not plan to run any further track days in the foreseeable future. This
may change at some point in the future. We will inform all members by email if or when the situation changes.
Not too sure about which future they're looking forward to.....
ETA, the main site seems to be working http://www.teessideautodrome.co.uk/
So its just the Trackday Club that's gone wrong!

As far as I know that's two different organisations. Tim and Howard were hiring the circuit to hold the Track club trackdays. They appear to
have given up on the venture for now.

Thats a shame but not suprising. I had agreed a price with Bob who leases the track to run an event for PPC Magazine. The price was £1750. Then Tim
and Howard got involved and the price suddenly shot up to £4000! Bob just shrugged. So we took the event to Santa Pod who hosted it for free but got
some publicity.

I really do hope someone steps in and gets the trackdays going again at some point. I quite like Teesside, it's no Oulton park but it has
it's good points, one of them being the location. Handy for us Northern folk.

I've done a couple of good track days at Teesside (for the amount of time I managed to be on track, at least!) and had been trying to find out
more about if/when there were any more events coming up.
If the venture seems to have fizzled out, do you think that means the price may have gone back down to a reasonable level to hire the venue?

I was wanting to organise a test day. They used to charge £45 for the morning OR afternoon or £80 for all day. No racing and no timing gear allowed.
The Karting and trackdays were run by two different groups. I need to get hold of Big Bob to see what the score is as I believe it's him who
leases the place of the council..
