Trackday - Brandshatch Nov 15th

Just booked this. Will be only my 2nd trackday and the first trackday in the Clio - anyone fancy it?
At the end of the year they get cheaper due to weather, light and less interest.
£115 all day open pit lane, indy circuit, road cars only.
Theres also another on Sun 15th of Dec for £99 so might do that as well!

Please note – this is a Road Car Only event. ALL cars must be driven to the circuit and must not resemble a racing car. Drivers must not hold a competition licence.

If you attend this event in breach of the above restrictions you will not be allowed access to the circuit and will not receive a credit or refund.

Looks like that's me out then

Why?
I dont think it matters if you have a racing license, as long as your car isnt a race car.
Or if its that you want to trailer it there, just pull up at the petrolstation 5 mins up the road, unload and drive it seperately. Seen that done many times.
The rules are there to stop bonafide race cars using it as a test session, which is what happned to me when I went on an all cars session - swamped by MX5s, clio 200 cups all proper race cars using it for practice and expecting us to be driving as fast & braking as late.

Spoken to them, full cage is fine as a number of cars can come from the factory with these.

No slicks, taxed, tested and MOT'd.

Must not arrive up on a trailer, so will need to unload and drive in.

I did this exact day last year, mid november road only cars.

It was a great day. I got there far too early, as usual, due to excitment. It also gaurentees me a garage.

There was a layer of fog sitting in the valley down by graham hill bend and mist coming off of the grass as it was being warmed by the sun.

Ended up being a great day with good weather.

Anyway, what I was going to say was a father and young son rocked up with an midget or some sort of old car on a trailer. They were questioned heavily by a mashal. I heard the main of the conversations which was.

-You should of left the trailer at around the other side
- It was road legal
- We have come a long way and it probably would of broke on route, or if not certainly on the way back. Hense trailer.

They were allowed on.

I dont remember them checking tax or MOT on the day but dont quote me on that.

Do consider the level of pace slightly lower than average. Although an open pit the road only days seem to entice newer trackdayers.

As always, be careful and enjoy. I may pop down if I can.

Track days ARE the best thing since sliced bread, until I get a supercharger that is!

Been prepping well for this - new wet road tyres (rainsports), set of sticky dry tyres (ZZRs), new brakes, planned on doing an oil and filter change this weekend.
But just to throw a spanner in the works - its starts overheating due to loss of water yesterday - it appears to be a leaky waterpump, which is much better than a headgasket, but still means this weekend is going to be a manic one rather than the relaxing one I hoped for!

JOY!
