Audi A4 alarm problems
I have an 01 Audi A4 estate, the alarm has been going off and waking up my neighbours. I have been in the boot and removed the alarm siren. My
neighbour has told me that they can still hear it going off. It usually happens at midnight and I have not heard it. Is there another siren in the car
or is it linked to the car horn as well?
Regards, Jon

I had similar problem with my 3 yr old Passat, turned out to be split rear washer hose leaking at hinge and going into the boot and messing with the
electrics, i.e. the alarm would go off at random when parked and locked and rear window wiper would turn itself on at random when driving too.
Nightmare getting to the area with all the panels etc and replacing the split hose, I ended up taking it to a VW/Audi specialist who said it was a
common problem. VAG had used the wrong material for the hose as it goes hard and splits at the hinge point. I'd make a guess that Audis might be
similarly affected. might be the cause of your problem.....................
Why do they call Port Harcourt "The Garden City"?...... Becauase they can't spell Stramash.

Why not try and make the alarm go off (rocking the car whilst it's locked for example) and see if there's another siren (or indeed the car
horn) activated.

Problem moved, but still needs solving I guess!
For a 01 plate car I'd be looking for cracked wires around doors and/or tailgate. Not uncommon on many makes and models. The wires are under
flex at these points and the sheaths can harden and crack over time.
