Rate the harrogate show
honest opinions please. What did you think? I was pissed that my passanger had to pay to get it - is that usual? im sure newark was free for both.
Anyway, comments welcome.
I'll vote later to avoid being first!

A good show for manufacturers, with lots in attendance inside, fine if you are still deciding what to build. But a bit thin on the suppliers side of
things. No Europa or Lolocost Trailers. No good if your SVA is on Monday!
Not many cars on the owners stands, but I guess that's down to the weather, which to be fair is out of the control of the organisers.
It's supposed to be nice tomorrow, so perhaps it'll pick up then.
My son loved the monster truck.
Cheers
Mike

Well just to moan a bit, i looked round for about 30 mins, then spent 2 hours looking for the 'rest', only to realise that was it. Pretty
lame really. Only highlights were the MNR tytan v8, the luego trike, that odd car with a one piece ally body, the two usual countach replicas, the f1
driving simulator (sitting in a replica car!), a large piece of cake, and the loud burnout i did on the way out (12pm, anyone hear it?!)
Everything seemed overpriced, and i left with a long list of stuff that i couldnt find. LED dash lights for £4.50? Have to get to rufforth next month
for that.
Bloke on the SVC stand was helpful though
And i still cant get over the £8 for the passanger...

Didn't go in the kit cos it was supposed to pi55 it down so went in the Jag.
Dissapointed that there were so few parts suppliers there but I only needed some pop-rivets anyway.
AFAIK passengers always have to pay to get in (defo did at Newark).
I may go down again tomorrow as the weather is supposed to be good so keep yer eye out for a yellow Viento V8.
ps If anyone is interested in the yellow Viper replica for sale, he is asking £19950 which I think is OTT considering the state of the interior.

We went last year and thought it was pants!
To say the place must have about 5 entrances, Who thought up lets make all the kit cars use the entrance thats down a half concrete and half gravel
track with speed humps and it might have even had cattle grids!
All i remember is the sound of gravel pinging off the car.
Hence us goin to the Large Model Air show (Fu**ing heuge model air show) at Rufforth tomorow instead
(And yeh we were glad we didn't go in a normal car cos then we'd ave bin ripped off to the tune of £16 last year!)

theres that bump at the top of the hill, just before you enter the top carpark - i hit that some speed and nearly did myself an injury! my mate
following fast in his mk bottomed out he said! I think my rear shocks are quite stiff though, hence only personal injury for me
As for a time, how about 11am, and for the sake of an argument, how about we park up on the locost o/c parking? I know not all are locosts, but it
saves an argument and this is the locost site afterall!! No one minded today when we put an mk there anyway...
sound good? I think i only know pat by face, so anyone else, im Q83 UDS i think it is... blue and ally locost.

was okay i thought. i wasnt going to look at the cars.. if i had, i'd likely have been a bit dissapointed.
i just went with a shopping list that had been growing over the past few weeks!
(and to pick some more stuff up off the mnr stand.)
it was compact, and not too busy so suited me quite well.
i suppose you could say i went for 'business' rather than 'pleasure', so it was okay.

To be honest i thought it was very poor!!!!!
I went in the tin top on Saturday with somebody who hasnt been to one before and we thought it had been cancelled!!!!
Didnt see one kitcar all the way from Selby to the gates, parked on a shitty gravel car park at the back of beyond, paid eight quid each and i reckon it
could of took 15 mins to see the lot if you wernt after anything special.
I went to that show about 4 years ago and i remember it been a good show with plenty to do and look at,there was one ropey old burger van and
everything was very costly indeed.
The horse show in the main arena was more interesting and i don't like horses
I know it was raining and spoilt it abit but if thats the best the organisers can do i think they should give up!!!!!!!!
Eight quid what a rip off
I feel sorry for the people trying to make a living on the stalls
Seems to me that the owners who take there cars to the event make these organisers alot of money cos as was plain to see without them there is nothing
left
Anybody can book a peice of land and advertise a meeting but you would expect something for your hard earned cash in return
anyway rant over!!!!!!!!!!
does anybody else agree or is it just me?

Just got back.
Ran out of petrol on the way home but only half a mile from a garage.
Parked my car behind JoelP's car but he didn't appear to be around.
Lots more cars and people than yesterday and no rain which was nice.

Thought it was your car. Damn still haven't seen it!
No rain while at the show, a few (and I mean only a few) drops on the way home. Oh and a bit of sideways action down the back roads....

I found it quite good, the place was packed, plenty and I mean plenty of 7's, including mine
Q'd for a couple of coffees for 15 mins at the only 'trailer'.
Bought some treadplate for a heelplate and some aluminium to try and make some gearlever and handbrake surrounds.
I found there was plenty of manufacturers there too, saw the MK lads sat behind Jon Ison's sparkly car
I'd give the Sunday a thumbs up.
