Eccy thump! Yorks meet tomorrow!

Flat caps and whippets at the ready, it's the Yorkshire meet!

Up here where the M1 is cobbled we have this funny old tradition of meeting once a month at the Angel at Ackworth on the A638, 500 yds from the roundabout at the junction of the A628/A638 starting at 7.30 in the PM.

All are welcome, though as Orwell observed "some are more welcome than others" You know who you are.

This months theme - Pirate memory games, ages 4 to 7.

Cheers

Chris

Please resist the urge to firebomb the Beverleys arms on your way past

Went through Ackworth at 3am today, like the new sparkely cats eyes on the Donny road towards the M1.

I'll not be there. Its not a pleasant drive up in the Indy in the colder months (October - March). April - September much better. Oh and besides, I quite like the Beverley Arms as a venue, cos it's situated right on the roundabout which is a constant source of entertainment with all the nobs in their chavved up Nova's trying to take it at speeds in excess of 20mph

Nobody goes in the sevens in the winter and we've been officially evicted from the Beverleys now - by letter.

We were never welcome there in any case

I realise that you'd have to speak to us but it's not that bad!

Is this Steve or Phill we're talking to BTW ? - one of you needs a new login!

Cheers

Chris

It's a Public House isn't it? Or at least thats what I thought. How come they can evict you?

Phil

They've been a bit stroppy about us"filling up the car park" for a while, then just after the last meeting they sent us a letter about mis-using the disabled spaces and asking us not to use the car park, although we weren't banned from the pub, they didn't want us to use the car park. So we can still meet there but not park the cars outside! They also said that they thought they were losing trade because people thought that the restaurant was full!

We won the quiz at the Angel though, and had the free nosebag!

Cheers

Chris
