A type 9 should bolt straight to a zetec. Mine does.

IIRC as longs as its not from a 2.3 deisel then its the same bolt patern.

Hi Ray,

I'm sure the bolt pattern is the same on the Zetec and the Sierra bellhousing.

the engine i'm looking at is not a normal zetec, its an SE and apparently not the same as the standard zetec, the se is also known as a sigma.

have been told the se doesn't bolt straight to a type 9, hence the question.

Nope the engine is the new yamaha design and wont fit the type 9 without a new bell-housing.

Expect to pay £300

See Westfield or Shawspeed.

Bloke I know offered a full enginge 35k plus all bits and bobs aswell as fwd gear box ,It could be in my garage for £150 but was well put of by the bell housing.

He has just done a 1.7 puma conversion, A lot of work for 100cc me thinks

Also Mitchell Cotts do one i think but Shawspeed are the top dogs with all things relating to Zetec SE.
Let us know how much they quote as i like this little engine a lot.

£231 + vat for the bellhousing and spigot bearing. I was going to go with this setup a while ago but it was a lot of money to put in a Tiger, maybe the next car.

I know this is an old post but I've started doing the Puma 1.7 into a Tiger Avon. The bell housing I've found at http://www.rwdmotorsport.com/Bellhousings/Zetec-SE-to-Type-E-/-9-Gearbox-Bellhousing/prod_16.html For £180. I got a nice low mileage engine with a 3 month guarantee from a breaker and paid £370 delivered. The engine has high revs, very light and instead of vct (variable cam timing) it can be made to work like a V-Tec with an aftermarket ecu which is what I'll be doing
