what is best clutch plates for zx12
hi went to fit barnett springs today but the clutch plates look knakered, 23 plates in total, kawsaki oem parts have quoted me 176 quid for these,
ouch, should i go for these, are they best, or is there better as well as cheaper ones, what do you reccomend, number 1 priority is reliability, not
cost thou.

If your not bothered about cost whats wrong with genuine kawasaki parts?
Otherwise in the real world where everyone is bothered about what it costs, how about www.mandp.com who have ebc clutch plates at £61.00?
You know that extra £115 could better spent

Kawasaki plates
And set the clutch stack properly with barnett springs...
If you have an A1 you best update the basket, spacer, centre as well... The dont feed enough oil to the plates causing them to dry and burn out
fast!

If all the plates look tired then I would tend to replace the steels too. If the steels are burned and warped they are past repair, some people simply
hone them flat if they are not too far gone. New friction plates (cork inserts) can be bought seperately and for not too much money.
It's all down to how bad your steelies are really... any pictures?

If you need new frictions, whatever you buy, don't get the EBC frictions. They're crap.

They look like replicas, so may be okay..
No steels tho, so only half a set...
Make sure you get the right model year as they ARE different!

ZX12R Clutch Plates
Hi there, check this site out for ZX12R information.
The first link is there web site.

If I am correct, from what I can remember, you use a combination of ZX6 and ZX12 clutch springs, oem plates. Please check first though.

This is, the best site there is, for ZX12R info.
You will have to do lots of searching, but all the info you need on anything for your engine is there

Or you can just visit the muzzys site and buy everything they recommend on zx12r.org..
Basically you have a choice between OEM updated parts or muzzys parts. Everything else is best avoided, with the exception of Barnett springs.
If my job goes well this year, I may go for the muzzy clutch basket, muzzy 1375 upgrade kit, muzzy anti slip clutch, balance shaft removal kit, and a
75bhp wet NOS kit
The dollar is such good value at the moment would be silly not to...
