center console side edge radius?
Just in the middle of sorting my dash, im thinking of having a center console that comes down and meets the trans tunnel, for SVA purposes does the
side edges have to have the same radius as under the dash?
looking at the SVA manual i dont think so but it would be useful to have other opinions.
i am going to put a radius on anyway but if its dosnt have to be the full dash radius i was just going to bend it round a bit of 19dia tube.

I suspect it does, I put it on mine anyway, I'll let you know after the 8th October when i've had my test
I'm sure someone will come along to argue the point either way!

here's a (large - sorry) pic of my dash. It was made to be SVA compatible and has the same curve on the "centre console" don't
know if it was a necessity or not, but it won't be that hard to do, so you may as well just do it!

Not to be picky but what about the section of dash where the centre touches it. If the tester puts his radius gauge into this 'corner'
then it won't conform to the 19mm.

my understanding is, is that it wouldnt apply because the ball wouldnt be able to get into the corner?
if it is a problem im sure i can fettle and glue some 2inch water hose to cover that, as thats what im gonna for the left and rigt hand edges that the
dash dosnt cover on the scuttle.

I like your thinking mate. I gathered that guage could be placed anywhere at any point along the edge. If this isn't so then I may to knock up
an ally one. I was going to use foam covered wood for the time being to stay on the safe side but yours looks simple and good.

yep it was pretty simple to do, just bent the ally round some 2inch pipe with a little bit of heat.

Appologies for dragging this one up from the depths.
I recently realised I'm going too need a center console.
I have few switches I need to fit somewhere, and I can't find a place I like on the dash.
So I knocked something up yesterday, and was pretty pleased with it until I realised the radius on the sides is only about 8mm, and it might count as
the bottom edge of the dash and so need to be > 19mm radius.
Does any one know exactly what the 19mm radius applies to?
Pretty much everything else in the passenger compartment is 3.2mm
Here's a picture of my attempt so far.
(the eagle eyed among you will notice the "spare" on on the bench. It was the first attempt and it didn't fit so well)
