Le Mans 2002 (the return of the sludge pumpers)

Hi All
What were you all doing in Newark when we were all sweltering in 86 degree heat? Cold Stella and hot meat mixed with car racing and more laughs than you can count. Top trip and it's on again for next year. Sign up here!
Chris
p.s. All those of you with an MK might like to know that they don't like it when hit at speed with a tree, driver o.k. though!

Hi again
Before any clever dicks tell you I will. My offside front wing bracket broke on the way down, metal fatigue. Got me there and back though. 840 miles in a Locost in one weekend!

Hi Chris,
Glad you all had a good time and have enjoyed it.I think I've told you that I went years ago(that makes me feel old saying that)and I know what the atmosphere is like.
I'll stay away from trees when I get on the road, hopefully!
On the way down to Newark with Martin we were laughing about you lot 'cos it pissed it down when you were on your way there.
You've got bottle going in a Locost all the way there,I take my hat off to you all, well done.
Dean, dry but sober, not like you lot.

I don't know which weather forcast you were looking at but all we had were a couple of spits of rain and I mean a couple. We've had a bone dry weekend (lager excepting of course!) so your laughing was in vain smart bastard!!
And what do I keep telling people about these bike engined cars. One bike engined MK trying too hard, one less MK on the road! At least it had a Brit bike engine though, only been on the road a fortnight too!
You are welcome to come if you change that piece of poo jap BDA copy in your car and fit a real engine! They forced my grandad to build a bridge over the river kwai you know!!

Hi Chris, I didn't see the forcast but it pissed it down here, glad you missed it honest.
As for the Japs my grandads brother never came back from Burma so I know what you mean.Whole family never got over it.
Anyway it's rumoured the 4AGE twin cam was co designed with lotus,so it's nearer the original seven lump than you think.
Of course it's possible you might not keep up with mine with Ol' Henry Fords' brick in yours. I could follow though if I could see through the smoke screen I suppose.
Only joking mate,at least you've been there and back in your car.P.s.whats these rumours about the Pope asking to use your car for state occasions, something to do with bullet proof glass all round.
Dean.

Hi Dean
Only joking re: your motor but you're right about the side screens, it made the car look like an invalid carriage. I'll tell you one thing though, I'm going to have some proper ones made for next year because boy do they work, ask Chris Gibbs. I'll be posting some pics probably tommorrow evening. It would have been tonight but I need an infusion of real beer instead of that ladies wee they have in France! I'll add you to the list of wannabes for next year.
By the way the deposit will be £50 next time to try and stop all the bullshitters "oh yeah I'll definately come to le mans with you just let me know nearer the time" No sign of them when push comes to shove. For the 2003 trip I shall be ruthless!!!
See Ya

Hi Jon
Questions,questions.
1. The driver was OK just very shook up. It was his mates car not his with different rear suspension so he might not have been used to it.
2. He went off the road and hit a tree sideways on and smashed the drivers footwell in, how he got his feet/legs out I've no idea.
3. By cover do you mean breakdown cover, if so yes. AA european.
4. I think the chassis is probably a write off.
See ya

ERM...

Would have replyed before but I've only just got up!

What bleeping rain? I wish it had, I've got a face redder than a baboons arse. Bastard froggys turned the sun up to eleven just to cremate us white yorkshiremen (and a Brummie). Couldn't go to work to day 'cos i couldn't get my trousers over my sunburn!

I'm going to hospital tomorrow to have a scan on my sides, I have never laughed so much and so hard in my life!

I've worn out my new shoes walking round the track watching the bits of carbon fibre flying round (and walking to the pub). Didn't get to pump any sludge tho.

There will also be a report on my website when I can be arsed. I know this will be eagerly scanned by the guys who went (and quite possibly their wives/lawyers).

Arse chin/cog down kid/Bob Altzeimer/Plastic Sidescreen Man, you can have MY £50 tomorrow, cheers for the ride mate.

WAAAAAAtch IIIIIIIImm!!!!! EEEEEEEEss got a penkniffffer!!!!!

Cheers

Pluto

hi All
Just come back from the ale house, just one thing. Our beer does'nt have the same effect on me as the french witch piss. i.e. it does'nt make me want to take all my clothes off and sit around the camp fire stark bollock naked! Strange that? Oops! perhaps I've said too much. I'm sure someone has the evidence!
Chris PTM
p.s. it was cold that night, honest!!!!
