Best motor show 2004?

If I´m gonna fly in from sweden to visit a kit-car show next year, which one is the biggest and best? And when is it?

Kit Car shows have been a bit variable recently.

In the past I would have said that Newark is the best show to go to for meeting fellow Locost builders (it probably still is) and to buy odds and ends for the build. The other one would be Stoneleigh, to see the major kit manufacturers. Some people love Donnington, but I heard a few bad reports about that.

Trouble is, last year the bits and pieces stands were noticeable by their scarcity at Newark, and several kit car companies stayed away from Stoneleigh.

My personal opinion is that the organisers are getting too greedy - too many shows and too expensive prices for floor space.

This rant doesn't help you much, though!

David

Didn't attend Newark but IMHO Stoneliegh (May bank holiday w/e) was FAR better than Donnington

Newark is a great place to take the wife and kids - there's loads of things to keep them amused while you go and spend the money!

Everyone's very relaxed and generally happy.

The down-side is that it has never attracted the big-name kit manufacturers.

I've had a good day every time I've been there so, if I go to anything next year, it'll be Newark.

Read what Mr Jenkins says and double it!

Newark is tons better than Stonleigh, Donnington is nowhere, and for the second year running it doesn't clash with Le Mans!

Newark for me.

Cheers

Chris

Newark is easily the best show I went to this year.

I shan't mention it's the only show and just up the road from me... From what I hear though (and what the guys said above) it's the best atmosphere anyway.

Rich.

Newark is the club event of the year, meet the people and see the cars.
Auto jumble isnt too bad for bits and pieces but many more stalls at Stoneleigh for parts.

Donington is mainly for the track on sunday, less stalls for parts.

The rest of the shows are smaller by more than half, see report on exeter after this weekend.

Oh yeah... and the last time I went to Newark I got a ride in the IsonBlade! Driven by Jon 'loony' Ison no less!

Took an hour to get the silly grin off my face... and off the faces of a few others who also had a ride...
