Anybody up for go cart racing in the new year
as the title states.
Anyone fancy a wee race?
Located in central scotland but can travel.
There is a good track in tranent. Outdoor as well as indoor.
Locations and ideas welcome.
Monies could be held at the track to confirm your place, i'm sure they wouldn't mind doing this.
So , get posting and we could have a huge locost meet.
Regards
Ewan.

I would do it, but I feel it would be unfair on the rest of you seeing as 1st place would already be booked...
...but, if you like a (hopeless) challenge count me in!

Scotkart racing
Ewan -n- co
I popped into Scotkart circut in Cambuslang this evening to get a handle on prices, they have a special offer running in January at both the Glasgow
venues, Cambuslang/Clydebank 20 - 48 drivers £31.20pp for either the Grand prix or Le-Mans team endurance event. The Grand prix includes practise laps
5 heat races per driver, and the grand final for the top 8 drivers, trophies and sandwich platters. The Le - Mans includes practise laps 60/90/120
minute race depending on numbers, medal presentation, sandwich platters.
Anyone know prices or details for the other venues yet. They would require a minimum number for exclusive use of the track 20 + I think.
cheers
Shug.

Joel, not sure never been on an indoor kart cct in my life only outdoors, might be an idea to do it before I pop my clogs, suspect its big enough
for me to get a showing up, especially as tadltd thinks hes going to wipe the board with us.

The outdoor circuit at hoddesdon is pretty good, not sure if they do endurance race deals or whatever, but they have karts you can hire including
125cc rotax ones, 12hp or whatever they are, proper quick karts.
I used to race there when I was a kid, good circuit, but they're maybe more geared up to serious karters than people who want to turn up and
have a go.
http://www.deavinsons.co.uk/ for the curious. They make karts there too, you might be able to get your roll bars bent while you're
there, they will do machine shop work for money

a good place to start
Right so interest seems to be quite good so we need to know what your preferences are.
1. GP style one for glory and sod the rest
2. Le mans style, teambuilding and laughing at the running start to the carts as is associated with le mans.
Have done both and for laps and technique le mans is the one, but for playstation shove em out the way Gp is better.
That aside if we can interest some groups from elsewhere then they can form their teams, enter and have good laugh up here.
Possibly leading to us supporting them in (north please) englandshire.
I'd travel down for a meet with new faces and i'm sure that you guys out there would do the same.
For the record i'd prefer Le Mans as it's easier to arrange with a couple of team captains than 40 individuals.
Teams are usually 3 to 4 guys and scotcart has raced with ten carts at livingston, I'm sure that cambuslang would be similar.

Grand prix vs le Mans
Ewan
Maybe we should have a straw poll, see who wants to turn up in Scotland and Grand prix or Le Mans style race day/nite. Im up for the Le mans team
event, think I can put a Team of Desperados together to start the ball rolling. All who think they are the mutts nutts at karting, Dont you Steve
Shug and the Banzai warriors
