Just a thought - now that the weather resembles Summer, is it time for a North Essex/South Suffolk* get-together in the lofty heights of the mighty
Essex Alps? (a.k.a. Mt Bures)
David
* Anyone else welcome too - even those from Cambridgeshire!

i will go just to look through, car still not road legal.
Your keen David , you've only just got the carbs sorted and want to show off? When?
Unsure when - I'm looking for the usual "I can't make whatever-day in the evenings" discussion!
(Last time I think it took 2 weeks to agree on a day and time... )
How about a sunday?
A Sunday lunchtime? Sounds good - probably not this Sunday though, the weather forecast looks iffy (not that you can rely on them anyway )
I'm up for a Sunday.
My car's still in bits after last weekend's shennanigans

OK - I'll nominate a date and we'll see how it goes...
Sunday, 6th July, 12:00 noon
at
The Thatchers Arms
Mount Bures, Bures, Suffolk CO8 5AT
Tel: 01787 227460
This is a nicy, tidy pub with a big car park, good beer and a decent reputation for food. The approach roads from almost every direction are
well-suited to 7-style cars - reasonably fast and twisty - and reasonable access from Essex, Suffolk and Cambridgeshire.
Now all we need is a nice day!

Hope you can fix it in time!
Oh - I've added a vital bit of info to 'the booking' - a time of 12:00 noon!
Also changed the title to clarify what it's about - maybe attract a few more folk.

Weather permitting I should see you there.
At that precise time I will be sitting on the edge of my chair in front of my telly....
Unless I win the the lottery of course, in which case I'll be sitting on my new chair, in front of my new telly.

I'll try to make this David

Whats on Paul??
I might pop a long if my car is back together by then!
Noooo, make it the following weekend and hopefully car will be registered.
May turn up in tintop on 6th though.

Personally I'd prefer it if you kept it for this coming weekend as I will be in China once more for the the following two weeks
Rich
I'm not planning to change the date - but the current met office weather forecast for the weekend is wet and windy...
Like Paul, I shall be in front of the telly....

The Friday weather forecast suggests that the weather will be grim on Sunday...
I suggest that everyone who's planning to go should have a look at this thread at around 10:00 on Sunday morning, to see if everyone else is
planning to turn up!
The forecasts have been rubbish lately, but if it does look it's going to persist down then maybe we can postpone to the Sunday after (13th
July).
they couldnt even get today right! acording to the report I saw at 7am east anglia was due for heavy showers all day! It's lovely and sunny outside!
I think that we'll have to stick to traditional forecasting... look out of the window shortly before the journey!
Anyone likely to be there??? I might come along pre-GP...
I aim to be there for about midday guess I'll stay for an hour Ferg.
Rich
weather is looking promising so I am thinking of turning up for an hour - then back for the GP and a beer or 2
Every weather site I've just looked at say rain around lunchtime...
I do want to go, but not if it means getting wet - and SWMBO wants to come along, and she will be unimpressed if she gets wet...
If it's not raining at 11.30 / 11.45 then I'll be there!
RIch
Spoke to AndyGTT on the text, he's coming at 12.
In his new car I presume...

well weather seems to be holding so i am going to go for it....
This will be the first run out >10miles since all my breakdown issues, HP fuel system has now been totally reworked and bonnet vents added... so
fingers crossed!
If you see me parked at the side of the road looking p*ssed off then you know i haven't fixed the problem yet!
I'll make sure I've got my toolkit in the boot...
Sigh...
Got three-quarters of the way there and drove into a major cloudburst - did a quick U-turn and raced it home...
Hope the rest of you kept dry...
Was chucking it down here about 11.30 so thought I would give it a miss. Perhaps we can rearrange it with a bit more notice ?
I gave 2 weeks notice!
I went.
At one point there was:
An Avon
A Velocity
A Libra
and
A Noble M12 GTO3
It did rain slightly at about 12.30, but then I had to leave to watch the GP.....
well i made it there and back! just caught a little rain in the last mile home..
I had some trouble before setting off, an o ring had gone on one of my injectors and was peeing fuel out eveywhere, quick trip to halfords for a new o
ring and I was away...
Car ran well all the way, put 58 miles on it today without real incident.... still don't trust it yet though! had a minor issue with the oil
catch tank overflowing but nothing serious.
