Have answered this a couple of times already, but here goes again...

You don't have to sign up to Paypal to make your payment. You can just do a 'one time' transaction by entering your credit/debit card number

I don't take cheque payments I'm afraid for three reasons:

1. I don't want to give out my address in public (yes, I know those with too much spare time on their hands can find out)

2. I'm self employed, and my accountant gets paid a lot of money each year to make sure I get the maximum amount of pay for the minimum tax bill. Additional payments into my bank account, regardless of whether they go straight back out again, are best avoided. It simply saves questions being asked should I ever be unlucky enough to have my collar felt by the tax man.

3. I'm simply too lazy to walk to the bank

The site has it's own dedicated Paypal account that gets used for inbound contributor payments, and outbound to cover hardware purchases and as many of the hosting costs as I can each month. I don't want to go to the hassle and expense of a Ltd company and/or dedicated 'real' bank account into which I could accept cheques.

I do, however, accept cash payments (in person), car parts, burgers, beer, assistance with my car, discount on something I'm buying, or anything else I consider of value. The 'donate a fiver' thing is not a hard and fast rule. Come and have a chat at a show and you'll find I'm more than reasonable!
