unable to get into threads
blakep82 - 18/7/09 at 10:15 PM

this one seems to be a particular issue
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=117795

and the contribution page comes up, fair enough, but the wording is slightly different i think, and there's no way to click to the thread. if the one that says 'click here to go to the thread' or wheter it says comes up, i click, and then it goes to the other one, and i can't go further.

why won't it let me go any further?

this is the one that comes up
http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/contribute.php?

EDIT: oh, i see it now... hmmm.....

blakep82 - 18/7/09 at 10:25 PM

if your not a contributor then you cant see the for sale adds for the first 48 hours. appears to be a new rule change.

ebay link for you link

how do i know when my contributor status runs out??

or do you just wait until the for sale section no longer works ??

blakep82 - 18/7/09 at 10:29 PM

brilliant, so if i want to sell something, i put it in the for sale section, and then i can't see any replies to my own ad?

Contributor status never runs out. Once a contributor, always a contributor.

No, you can see your own posts in the for sale section. See the other thread about this, the bug was fixed yesterday.

Come on Blake. If you haven't had your fiver's worth now, you never will.

Hand in pocket time.

It never ceases to amaze me that people with posts in the thousands on this site will winge about a fiver!!!!

mangogrooveworkshop - 19/7/09 at 10:03 AM

Blake didnt we tell you the site is now pay as you go

geoffxt - 19/7/09 at 10:39 AM

How frequently are we to be asked to contribute and what is a reasonable contribution? I paid a fiver on 5th. June.09 and I'm being blocked from the for sale adds! Is the malaise of politicians, bankers and BBC executives now spreading to this hitherto friendly forum?

As stated above, and many times before, the contributor status is a one-off payment of a fiver or more. If you feel you want to give more, or contribute again, of course you are welcome. However, the requirement to view for sale ads within 48 hours and to get rid of the nag screen is ONE contribution of a fiver.

If you are still getting the restrictions imposed I suggest you are not logged in, as your account shows you as a contributor.

Obviously I don't know as much about computers and the internet and stuff as you, but wouldn't he have to be logged in as himself to be able to post as himself???
