This may be me being a bit thick, but how does the search facility work?
I have a couple of times in the past searched for something, not found what I want and then had to ask. Then only to be given a link to what I
couldn't find.
Now let me give you an example. I recently wanted to search for 'round chassis tube' info. And it gives 3 results only.
yet when i type in 'round tube chassis' it gives all the results I wanted, hundreds of them.
So what are the rules for searching? Does it search for those words in that phrase? Should I be using quotation marks?
i thought the search just looked for those words,i didn't realise there was a rule to the order they are in.
Not quite sure but it can be a bit of a P.I.T.A.
Once you do get the results I find you have to right click on the subjects and select open in new tab or window, otherwise its a bit of a mission to
get back to the results page
i believe it searches for the word/words as you type them, eg if you search "carb" it will find all posts with that word, if you search
"xflow carb" it will search all posts with those 2 words as they are typed, im hoping this is right, but if wrong someone will be along soon
to correct me.

I can get back to the results fine (using firefox on ubuntu is much easier for that) but its the getting of the initial results that i am struggling with. All other forums I use you can just type in 3 words in any order and you get the same results, but not on this forum
what is it your trying to search?
Try reading through this thread...
Works great in FireFox too...

Try using a percentage sign "%" instead of a space between the words you're searching for.
Works for me, of a fashion
I use google homepage advanced search.
