Had a few of these lately, anyone else?

Database connection error!!!

A connection to the Database could not be established.
Please check your username, password, database name and host.
Also make sure config.php is rightly configured!

When connecting, the database returned:

yep, happens from time to time. i think its to do with the server being too busy. fozzie will probably be here to confirm in a bit

Fozzie - 9/9/09 at 09:12 PM

The last line of the error message tells it!

'Too many connections' = too many people trying to log on at the same time.......

Most common at peak times....

Just leave it a minute or two.......then try again...

I've had that when using firefox but not with explorer. My firefox is getting slow recently, to the extent that I've started using explorer again, particularily for here. Must update but feel a clean reinstall would be better but don't want to loose all my bookmarks. Can I transfer them to explorer or save them in a file, remove firefox and then re-install?

Fozzie - 9/9/09 at 11:56 PM

Dusty....have a read through this thread first, just in case this could be the problem....

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/viewthread.php?tid=120421

There is an add-on in firefox called Xmarks...might also be worth having a look at that add-on too

Thankyou Fozzie. IE tab now installed and locostbuilders opening in IE engine as default. All working fast again.

That'd be impressive, not least because the images should be saved/linked to statically requiring no database calls, and the majority of the slowness I see on here appears to be database related.
