The 'new posts' things seems to be working for me. Does it for you lot?
(You may have to log out and back in again for it to work tho....)
Chris
Not for me Chris
Still not showing as red for unread. One or two red folders are showing but its literally 1 or 2 and they're pretty random.
Is it just me then ?
Nah...
Doesn't work for me either - driving me nuts as there's so much traffic on this site now.
David
Just noticed that my smileys aren't working properly either...

Not doing it for me either?
Col
iv just tryed clearing out my cookies
gonna see if that makes a difference
*Update*
yep thats seemed to fix it
just delete all cookies from locostbuilders.co.uk and www.locostbuilders.co.uk
That didn't work for me, I deleted 2 other cookies and then it was fine.
They are named ******@xmb[1].txt and ******@xmb[2].txt
where the ****** replace your (PC's)username.
Complicated, not at all.
I'm sure Chris will explain what xmb is, something to do with the forum software I think.
It seems to work if you clear out your old cookies and let the site re-create them for you. As Roadkill says....

Whoopee!
That's the mail icon thingies fixed for me... my only whinge is the slow login now.
David
Found and deleted ******@xmb[1]. but have not been able to locate******@xmb[2].txt . Is this normal and could it have anything to do with running
window washer?
Cheers Col.
Not sure where xmb[2] comes from but it appears that most people have it. If you delete [1] and it starts working don't complain!
Chris
Chris - it sort of works...
It only seems to show the last one sent, not 'all the ones since I last looked', which is what it used to do.
Also, can you use a different symbol for hot topics? I find that using the same symbol as new items is very confusing.
rgds,
David
Chris, deleted [1] but unable to locate [2] but still not working.
May be a problem on my pc as appears to be OK for most.
Cheers Col
It seems I was talking out of my arse with my last msg, it still doesn't work
Update: It does show the new messages that are my replies but I haven't logged out yet.

Logging out, deleting the cookies, then logging back in sems to have worked for me. Cheers.
But I still think its a bit poo having the same symbol for new posts and topics with greater than 25 posts. Surely there's a way to get the flames
back - or at least a different colour?
Also, I prefered it when it didn't show you've edited a post. That way I could go back and correct all my spelling/grammar mistakes, insert missing
words, talk less bo**ocks, etc etc. Without anyone knowing OK, now I'm just being picky.
Anyway - thanks for all your efforts with this site - it's great!

Oh - having said that it doesn't seem to be working properly again. It sometimes to be working in a session, but then I can close internet explorer,
come back to the site a bit later, and it doesn't show the new posts.
Liam
I'm sorry to say that in its present state, this site is almost unusable to me
I'll pop in if I have any questions to post, it'll be easy enough to keep up with one or two threads, but the board is so busy now I can't use it
without the "Unread posts marked" thingy working.
Sorry to sound so negative, I'll be back when its working again
Cheers all, cya
Me too, I'm afraid.
I've had to go from "several times a day, just popping in for a few minutes" to "once a day, taking a long time, getting annoyed".
I'll still be looking in - just not very often.
David
Come off it guys, it takes half a second if that to check the date and time of a post. If the time is since you last checked (easy to remember for
even the stupidest of people) you know what's new.
Don't just feck off and make the site the worse for your loss.
Give it a few seconds thought.

Didn't intend to upset David, sorry.
Just tried to stop you leaving.
Kind of buggered that then.
By the way... PITA?
Isn't that bread..?

I've just tried that, having logged out first, logged back in after and it seems to be working!
