I am having trouble insereting pictures in my posts (some of you may have noticed ).
How do I do it properly as they won't cut and paste and when i insert them using the url link to my archive all i get is a red cross.
I have done a search and tried various different ideas but no luck. It's probably something stucking fupid on my behalf but can you help.

easy that one! Rather than right clicking and copy/pasting, you need to right click, select properties, and then cut and paste the URL, into the post reply box. You either manually add the tags, or just click the right icon at the top (looks like a postcard).

Tried this Joel but all I get is a link to my archive and not actually the picture

must be one particular picture mate, i posted one out of you archive but deleted it to save people time downloading stuff unnecessarily. Either wrong file type of too big. I'll post another now!

how about posting one so i can look at the x?!

as expected, the red x shows up the problem. You are right clicking on the title of the picture, i open the picture first and then right click it. Hence the two different urls above. I'll edit them both so urls show rather than pictures.

Like this is it.

well it comes up as link but not as a picture in the thread (it will also need resizing.

My method:

Resize image and file on PC
Open reply / New topic window
Bottom of window is "attachment" and browse button
Browse, select image and click open (I think) to attach it
Submit post

Mick

Try this in a different catagory as for some reason the attachment option does not appear here

I just need to resize them in photoshop.
It lets me set the size by pixels what would be a good size for inserting into posts?

JoelP - 29/9/05 at 05:46 PM

depends on peoples screen size, i usually aim for about 750 pixels maximum, but would could go higher well done BTW!
