As a computer technophobe I need a bit of assistance please

I received a wireless adaptor for my laptop and whilst it is great to be able to access LB from my armchair / garage I can't access the U2U or chat functions. What have I done wrong ?? (In laymans terms please )

Just wondering if you have a pop up blocker piece of software running as both of these items display in a new window.

Just an idea.

Pop up blocker - I had all pop ups blocked and it wouldn't work for me.

Like you guys say it's most probably going to be the popup blocker if everything else works and that doesn't. If it’s the one built into explorer it will probably appear as a yellow toolbar type thing under the address bar where you type www.locostbuilders.co.uk etc. Click on this and select allow pop ups.

if you hold shift down as you click a link it opens in a new window, i believe most popup blockers recognise this as a sign that you actually want the new window.

I don't get a 'pop up blocked' message and when I try Joel's suggestion to hold down the shift key when clicking on the U2U icon it just opens this thread in another window.
Member list, search,photo archive and links all work fine but U2U and chat are 'dead'
