Where has the "catch up" option gone?
I found it very useful and am missing it.

Yeah ChrisW is updating the website as you probably know, but I've noticed that the 'profile' 'gallery' and other links are missing on the left under the names (in a thread).

It also seems that my mood is reflecting the car I'm building

'Building' is sorted, as is catch up. I'll sort out the rest tonight (got things to do now)

Also, edit/quote functions should now work again and hopefully Hippy's u2u will be fine :S

Don't say I don't do anything for you lot! Now.. I'm off out to the garage!

I can't see the emoticons you added at the end of your post Jim but I'm going to post the following:

Jesus christ, I've already said I have never had a problem with U2U. What I do have is a lack of ANY pictures that people have attached to posts, no emoticons, no working envelopes, I can't log out and very few avatars appear.

When I first joined the forum back whenever the heck it was I had no problems at all having a ™ in my name.

It can hardly be suggested I caused the problem. If you want to blame somebody for any problems that anybody has had try blaming the original developers of the forum software for doing a poo job and not me.

No work needs to be done to sort mine except to have the ™ removed from my username. Doing that would solve all problems I have from what I can tell from what everyone else is posting.

And no Chris, I don't hassle you every time you log in to Messenger.

is this due to the same bad mood that is mentioned in Rortys thread or am i the cause of the bad mood?

Any how i think you may hav taken me way to seriously, no offence meant hippy

Sorry Chris - still not working for me.

Is this linked to me having a space in my name? If so, can you take it out, or replace it with an underline/hyphen, whatever?

Or shall I simply create a new userid?

P.S.: I agree with Hippy in one respect (tho' not his tantrum ) - the old software didn't have so many features - but it did work consistently.

Hippy - I tried to put a smiley after "tantrum" but it didn't appear. I wasn't having a go at you!

The space problem was sorted long ago. Can you give me a bit more info about what happens David? What happens when you click the link? Error message? Just saying 'it doesn't work' doesn't help me much!!

Sorry Chris!

Click on the "Catch up", screen refreshes as if it's done the job, but all the envelopes stay in the same state (the red ones are still red, and the grey ones are still grey)

The other problems I'm experiencing are:

1. "Logout" doesn't - again, the screen refreshes, but all remains as was.

2. Smileys/emoticons not showing ("disable smileys" is NOT checked).

The core functionality does seem to be working - it's just these minor but useful features are broken (and annoy a bit)

Very strange problems David. My first suspicion was that you may be accessing through a proxy which is quite probable if you are at work. Try doing catch up then hitting ctrl-f5 (assuming you are using Internet Explorer) and see if it works then.

Failing that, change your password to something you don't mind me knowing and send me a u2u. I'll try it from this end and see if I can figure out what's wrong.

Alan - you're quite right!

I do have a problem with the catch up button, where it only works once after login. Chris is currently looking at this.

My smileys don't work either, but that's not the end of the world.

Apart from that, everything's working very well again - good job, Chris!

Me too, No catch up (whether logged in or out or both etc), no emoticons in reply page, no emoticons in post titles.
