Logged off and replying
JohnN - 4/12/07 at 07:41 PM

Somehow, I'd got logged off in responding a second time in a thread (in the space of 5 mins) and consequently my carefully crafted 2nd response to a thread didn't upload, AND GOT LOST

THERE MUST BE A WAY OF WARNING/PREVENTING THIS HAPPENING - ITS HAPPENED A FEW TIMES AND ITS DRIVING ME NUTS

Danmed annoying isisn't it.. and i'm sure we've all done it a few times.

It ought to give you the option of logging in and repeating the post, or atleast putting what you've just typed back up so you can copy and paste it when you've logged in.

It happens quite often to me - so now I type longer replies on wordpad and cut and paste them in.

Dont know about other sites but on www.scottishmini.co.uk if you try to post a reply and you are not signed in it tells you and brings up the login screen and then takes you to your reply screen. Have you noticed that its only long replys that get lost when you forget to log in

Guys

Not been able to replicate this error for myself, so very difficult for me to debug.

I do have a theory, which I'm going to implement now, but as I can't get the problem to show in the first place I will have no idea if I've fixed it or not.

So... if this continues, please report it either to me using email, or via Fozzie.

Cheers, Chris

If you log out.. so its asif you've just come to a fresh computer say at work etc.

Open a current topic and attempt to reply to it, when you click to "post reply" it just says that anonymous posting isin't allowed and shows the login screen. (I think)

Then when you login it takes you back the the main Locostbuilders site and thus the big long reply you've typed has disapeared.
