When creating your new post there are four tick boxes at the bottom, the bottom one is labled "Receive e-mail notification of new replies?" is this what you mean?

I'm nearly at the 1k post, wonder if I get a prize

A few years ago, 1,000 posts would have given you instant access to the Locostbuilders Shop. Unfortunately that's no longer the case.

That's strange cos you're not listed as a customer of the LB shop.

So how many do you need to get access to the shop?

Hellfire - 12/7/08 at 07:57 PM

Last time I heard it was 2,500 posts but I think it may have changed a while back to 'invitation only'. There only ever appears to be 250 customers on the lists that I've had, although some of those haven't been active on the site since 2005. There must be a time limit or some other method, whereby old customers are removed from the list and invitations sent out to other members.

Get your post count up and I'm sure an invitation will come around.

Err, sorry, what shop?

Am I missing something here?

Anyway, what is the point of having a shop and limiting it to certain selected members? Surely, if you have a shop you want as many prospective customers as possible?

Like I say, am I missing something?

Mart.

There's a link on the homepage of LB (in the navigation box) The Locostbuilders shop doesn't make huge profits, although I suppose it's more of a club than a true shop in the sense of the word. Some of the suppliers of the shop are also members of this site who have full time day jobs and some useful contacts in motorsport. They are able to obtain goods cheaply and then pass on massive discounts to others.

I assume the number of customers is limited because supplying the shop on a much greater scale would be detrimental to them and involve more time..........

Right, thanks guys. Not a very prolific poster but been using this site for years and never noticed that before! Obviously not very observant!
