Strange happening
mr henderson - 30/10/08 at 08:08 PM

I received an email telling me there had been another post on a thread I was subscribed to.

I opened the thread and scrolled down. I noticed that my first post on the thread appeared twice. Odd. I'm usually very careful about that sort of thing.

Then I noticed that my second post also appeared twice. Very strange. So I thought I had better delete the extra posts. I deleted the second post (edit, delete this post) had another look at the thread. My first post was still there, but only appeared once, and the second post had disappeared.

So, either I imagined the two double posts, or else either my computer or this forum's server is inhabited by pixies

I had the same thing happen twice last night.

Posted a reply, it appeared once, then I minimized screen, went back a minute laster and post was there twice.

Deleted one, both went (but I copied the text), clicked reply, pasted text, post appeared twice. Deleted one and went eleswhere, all was ok

yeah, it happens... you try to delete the 2nd one, and lose both.

When that happens you haven't actually posted twice, the system has a bug and is displaying one post twice. If you reload the page you'll usually find there's only one. It seems to only happen with your own posts though, if you see multiple posts from someone else then they are genuine multi-posts.
