seeing bj928 getting on with the v10 monster has helped me get my enthusiasm back and start on the fuel injection conversion.
So far I have cleaned and painted the inlet manifold and throttle body.
Adapted a fuel rail to fit.
Sat in the garage ready to fit are
New head gaskets
New Valley gasket
Fuel rail
8 injectors
Innovate LC1
Dash display for the LC1
Megasquirt MS1 extra – with launch edit (not megajolt) control option sorted
New wire to make loom + switch for launch control
New oil filter
New oil
Temp sensor for engine
Just need to source
Fuel swirl pot
Pressure regulator
High pressure pump.
AND the time to fit it all.

If the head gaskets haven't failed do you need to remove the heads? Should save you some time.
Small water leak from one of them so will change it to avoid future problems.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but how do you you intend to run fuel injection with a "megajolt" as unless i am mistaken i thought that
megajolt was igniton only sytem run in conjunction with an EDIS system ?
Unless of course there is a new version of megajolt in which case please ignore my stupidity.
Is it a 3.9 litre job?
Be wary of Water leaks if it is. They suffered from block problems.
Not a problem on a 3.5Litre.

I'm going to be doing much the same to my 3.5 V8, same MS1, JAW WB sensor and a different manifold. I'm trying to source a suitable pump
and filter now.
Scudders... Is that on a RV8? If so what is the Manifold and Throttle Body? ie who, what, and where did you get it etc.
I have been thinking of doing a 4 barrel conversion, as I already have the manifold for my 4 barrel webber carb.
It's on my bench at the moment, I haven't got around to bolting it to the engine yet. It is something I got from Bill Shurvinton complete with rails, TPS and crossover pipes. I brought it along to SG7 a few months back on the off chance to show you. Ultimately it's an american product, but there are no markings on it to help with google. I did see it mentioned once on v8forum, but for the life of me I can't remember the details.
Ha! I went out in the car today for a last drive before taking it off road, and three miles from home the ignition amp or coil packs up again. Fate has spoken, EDIS-8 here I come.
going to do a trial fit later so will post a pic.
given up on changing the head gasket. chassis rail in the way of on of the head bolts so will live with a very small damp patch on the end of the head
for the time being.
Can you undo the engine mount on that side and jack the engine up to gain clearance for the bolt? You know you will regret not doing the head gasket when it fails.
was thinking of removing the rubber and lowering the engine by an inch...
damm now I am thinking of changing it again…
will have another look later.

Head off and ready to fit new gasket. water leak was from the end channel outwards only so will use a little blue gasket sealent there.

Finally made some progress today…
Moved battery
Moved header tank
Fitted swirl pot
Fuel filter
Fuel lines
Fuel regulator
Made adapter to fit Air temp sensor
Blanked of port
Fitted Air filter
Will need to replace the current fuel rails as they are home made but will do for a test.
Next just need to fit a return from the swirl pot to the tank.
Also got sunburnt.!!!!

I've made a far bit of progress with mine. I think all I've got left is to cut out a chunk of my exhaust and clamp in a new bit with the lambda sensor it. I may try and start it this weekend

Its called the Thor manifold, very good for torque and power lower down ie up to 5000 rpm. the older manifold is better above 5000rpm but as I dont go
there very often I have opted to try the Thor.

Before you pressure test the fuel system, go around it first with a spanner and double check everything. I didn't and pissed petrol all over the
engine.
Just looking at your photo, and I think you must have your good lady EVER so well trained, because it looks like you are doing your car work in the kitchen.
Come on Paul , stop messing around get it up and running!
Six weeks off work and still not spent any time on the car.

I wish my idle was that low, mine currently idles at about 1000-1100 revs

Having done no work on the car over Christmas I have just taxed it and renewed my insurance so its now legal to drive on the road.
Time to put the final bits back on and start to work on the engine map.
Only hurdle now to being at the first show in May is an MOT due in two weeks.
Need to sort out the emissions and possibly back brakes binding as they have not been used for a year.

Well the deed is done…Finally booked the car in for its MOT this Friday.
Only concern is the handbrake, and not convinced the rear brakes are working as well as they used to.
EFI conversion has gone well, just needs one or two items tidying up.
Once its MOTed I can have a go at improving the engine map and set up.
