I've put mine in a similar position so if youve cocked up then so have I!

Yup wing needs to cover the wheel as shown in pic and also if looking from above needs to cover wheel too (not tyre)

sorry

Another option might be to fit 13" wheels for the SVA.

benji106 - 2/1/06 at 07:07 PM

surely with 13" wheels it would be too far down at the back i.e. more than halfway?

tom_loughlin - 2/1/06 at 07:20 PM

I just used carpet glued to the back of my cycle wings - to act as mud flaps, and also to make the rear of the wheel rim get covered by the arch.

no SVA problems with mr sva that way.

Hope to help

Tom

i might just take them off and move them forward, there glued on so shouldnt make a mess

You might not believe this but 13" wheels will have the centre in the same place as a 15", so if it's below the centre of a 15" it will be below the centre of a 13".

Nice choice of wheels BTW.

Peteff - 3/1/06 at 10:03 AM

It's supposed to be, it just shouldn't be higher than the centre at the rear.

phillippe - 9/1/06 at 07:53 AM

i just faild my sva on the weels and the emisons and my spelling lol

David Jenkins - 9/1/06 at 08:21 AM

I watched the SVA man check my wheels - rough summary is:

1. Drop a line from the front of the mudguard - must be in front of the wheel rim.

2. Drop a line from the back of the mudguard - must clear the wheel & tyre completely.

3. Drop a line from the outer side of the mudguard - must clear the wheel rim.

He used more technology - number 3 is physically impossible because of the tyre - but it explains the principle. He used a big set-square and a ruler, on a flat floor.

rgds,
David
