my headlights on my mini-van type effort thingy-me-bob have gone really cloudy and are dimming the lights significantly

I priced up what i can only assume were new solid gold ones from the motor factors

does anyone thinck i will be able to polish the clouds off with a mop and some cutting compound or something. they are plastic btw

We repair lightly scratched headlamps at work by flatting with 1000 and then 2000 and then G3 on a polishing mop, works a treat

I've used 1000-grit wet sanding, followed by a commercial plastic polish, with great success. If you're careful, it will come out clear as glass.

Use toothpaste!! this works ok, mate done it on a vitara good as new now.

Second the toothpaste. Fairly gentle so you'll struggle to make things worse (which could be easy with stronger abrasive pastes)...
