Best Mounts
Padstar - 27/4/14 at 04:59 PM

Hi,

I have got my landrover engine mounts in position to take the engine but wondered what mounts are recomended for the rear diff and the gear box. I assume a rubber mount of some sort should be used.

I am using an MX 5 set up. If you have used any items from the bay or europarts would you possibly be able to point me in the best direction.

Many thanks.

There's been a fair few discussions on the Haynes forum about box and diff fixing. The one thing I've managed to figure out is keep them consistent. So for example, don't mount the diff nose solidly if you're using the rubber mountings on the back. Same with the gearbox.

Personally I was aiming to use a rubber mount with the PPF fixing holes on the gearbox, but my diff will be solidly mounted using Talon's diff cover.

I also have the westfield gearbox mounting plate. If you are looking for the mounting rubbers for the gearbox try RS part number 4150749.
