recommending a company?

is it the done thing, or do you only allow mention/promotion of sponsor companies?

just wanted to ask what the protocol was, other forums that I am on, ie bike and guns etc can be rather tetchy

heavy is good, heavy is reliable, and if it breaks, hit them with it

Seems to be the norm on here, as long as you're not associated with them and singing it from the roof tops every minute I doubt anyone will have an issue with it.

It's ok to say you've had good service, assuming it's true, from them and don't have a financial interest. But straight advertising of products/services is right out.

Yup, it's fair enough to say where you've had good service from. After all, if other people have had bad service from the same company that particular thread will suddenly get very busy

As others have said, a genuine report of good (or bad) service is perfectly acceptable. If you have a interest in promoting the company, either financially or otherwise, you need to register as a trader.

But we much prefer mud slinging on here.

Chris should put popcorn in the shop
