FAO Fozzie.. re proof of membership

Hi Fozzie,

Trying to complete my insurance with Sureterm and the insurer gives a discount for forum membership.

However.. they have bounced it back as my profile page that I sent doesnt show my REAL name to associate with FFTS to know its really me.

Please help!!!!

They say a Club membership card, a letter on headed paper from you but I guess one emailed to me one would be fine so I can print it off or an email confirming my forum membership stating both user and real names.

They say if its not with them by the 3rd June they cancel my insurance and I lose up to £150 admin fees

Do companys give discounts for forum membership? I always thought it had to be a proper owners club (magazines,events/agm/discounts etc)

I know that was the case when I was with the XROC

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

2gether give discount on membership to this forum however they were happy to accept just a print off of the page with my login. No one else knows the password so it has to be me.
FFTS. How about you rejoin the forum again under your real name, making no posts so no one notices it and print that off and then try and delete the account afterwards, it may be quicker that way?

My insurer accepted my profile page as proof, they emailed the listed address and I replied to it as confirmation it was me.

Why not just edit your profile to show your name... print it off... and if you don't want your name to remain on the profile page, then go back to remove it!?

OK as far as I can see here are some answers to above..

YES!! they will give discount for FORUM membership.

I sent my profile page and they rejected it (The actual insurer NOT Sureterm broker)

You cant change or edit your user name in the edit profile pages.

They state either 1) Membership card, 2) headed letter from club, 3) an email from the forum stating BOTH my real name and my user name.

Thats it!!!1 If I dont get this sorted in one of these three ways then they cancel my cover and I lose a packet!!!

FOZZIEEEEEEEE..... HHHHheeeeeelllllpppp!!!

I'll send you proof of membership. Just send £145 to my address. Cash only, no cheques.

I'm joking of course. Drop me an email, I'm sure we can sort it out.

FFTS, as you have probably gathered, only 'The Boss' can do this type of email to the insurers...

I think the problem that you have encountered is due to your user name being nothing like your real name, and that there is nothing in your profile actually linking FFTS to you...that is, no email address listed.

So, in their eyes you could indeed be anyone. I usually advise folk to give them your forum number, found in 'Member List > type name in bottom box > your UID will be found to the left of your name.

Again though, if you have chosen not to list your email addy, there is no way an Insurance firm, who are not members of this forum can be sure it is actually 'you'.......

Perhaps a way around it, may have been to put your email in your profile, do a 'print screen' send it, and then remove your email addy from your profile?

Fozzie

ETA ... I do have an email 'button' and contact email in my profile......I would have got that quicker .... as I have had a bit of 'time out' that is, not on here as much, due to having an operation.
So......if you have any important concerns ...please do email me....

OK thanks for the help Fozzie. Not heard back from Chris yet but have managed to sort it out with Sureterm.

I had to give them my logon name and password so they could logon to verify it was indeed me.

I changed to a temporary password whilst they logged on and then changed it back again after.

Hope is all as well as it can be for you after you op
