Me Gif isnt err Giffing

Thought I'd change my Avatar so upped a couple of gifs and they work in my photo album OK but when used as avatars they are just static. My old Avatar works OK so I'm at a bit of a loss anyone any ideas.
Cheers,
Bob

I don't know for sure...I have been looking at this for another locoster with the same problem ...

I think the trouble started when ChrisW ...aka The Boss, wrote a code to limit the avatar size as some peeps were taking no notice of requests....

It seems that 'gifs' loaded from an outside host work ok, but from the site (photo archive) they don't ... I will ask 'The Boss' about it when I speak to him next. .....

iirc, if they are over the allowed size the forum resizez and and breaks the animation, resize them yourself to within the allowed size and they will work fine.

animated GIFs are multiple GIFs stored once after the other (hence they are incredibly space inefficient- as well as been pretty well uncompressed). The avatar size reducer is obviously only dealing with the first GIF in the series breaking the animation. Answer = as above
