Students registering
Hi,
Just a quick enquiry.... this year my level 3 BTEC students are building/rebuilding a locost car as their project. What I would like to be able to do
is have the students (13 off them) register with the site so they can tap into the knowledge base here.
Would anyone have an issue with this? in return I would be more than happy to help police their actions if there was a way that any posts could be
relayed to my account. Also, is there anyway they can be set up with a specific type of user name.
Thanks in advance
Dale

Hi,
Might be worth a U2U message to the forum owner, username "ChrisW".
Personally can't see any issue with them registering. We're a friendly bunch and pretty much self-policed. There's so much
knowledge on here it would be a shame for them not to access it.

The more the merrier tbh
They have to perform the initiation ceremony though and it's tough
Only condition is they post pictures of the project cos we're well nosey. We never made anything as cool as a car in collage, it was all just
file a block of steel into a perfect cube

You should count yourself lucky, we had to hand cut and file a T and U in 3mm steel and make them fit perfectly together...held up to the light to
check for gaps!

We all have to learn. Get them to register - they'll get some great advice.

Good luck and welcome

I like it and think Chris ort to be happy to support it.
Only thing I would suggest is you tell them to introduce themselves when they do join, which is fairly standard practice none the less.
I also don't think its as such true to say students and young people use text speak on forums, certainly on 'the student room' forum
(largest student forum on the web, generating over 500,000 posts a day) text speak is rare and no more tolerated than in it is here.

Sounds a great idea. They should do a project diary on here.
