A Megasquirt section in the forum

There seems to be an increasing number of questions about this.

It's only going to become a more popular topic so what about having a specific section.

It's such a complex subject it seems a shame to lose the previous posts amongst the rest!

Cheers,
James

Why not just use the megasquirt forums instead? There's much more information/knowledgable people on those......

Ps, I'm in the middle of adapting the megasquirt for my car too. I'm not against a forum here, but for technical problems and stuff, the likely hood of a decent answer will be greater on the dedicated support forums...

I kinda agree with you Andy.
The Megasquirt forums are great for technical support.
However maybe sometimes people have UK related questions or questions specific to our car type.
The Megasquirt forums are heavily biased towards the US.
It's might be nice to have a local knowledge base to tap into.

Agreed people maybe *ought* to use them but they don't- there's loads of questions going up here.
So let's atleast benefit from that by organising them!

Cheers,
James

Hmmm, fair points!

Having thought about it, perhaps a more "local" user base would be quite useful....

PS. Don't you just hate monday mornings when your head is a bit fuzzy still, and designing inanimate lumps of plastic/metal overmouldings is the last thing you want to be doing!

Are you aware of the Megasquirt Forum - European Section?

However, I think that that a section on this site would be a good idea as it could relate more to 'locost' installations and would be less formal than the MS site.

Cheers,

Colin

Should we take a vote?

What hasn't been mentioned is the fact that a lot of the posts on the MS. forums relate to conversions of "OEM" installs.
We tend to be more "virgin" installs out of necessity rather than a tin top power conversion/upgrade.

I also think a section would be good , the Megasquirt official site is good and has lots of info but sometimes it seems there is to much and a lot of it is not related to our use of the systems. It would also be better for discussing UK parts supply and related problems.

I'd agree with lockhead_rich make it a general ECU/EFI forum and then it can cover Emerald, Omex, DTA and Megasquirt/Megajolt.
