MK1 Escort Crimes
Right, get your detective groove on.
This car has three crimes against the 70s going on.
Two are visible, one isn't in the pics, but it's still there.
Once you spot the first two, you'll probably guess the third, it's that bad.
Happy spotting.

Doesnt much look like a 70's steering wheel
Axle (from memory) should be on top of the springs and have a diff in it somewhere so this THING must be front wheel drive ...... OMG
Oh yes and at a guess those wheels are bigger than 13" (seeing as its you thats put it up)
nice arch work though,
Speed is just a question of money !
How fast do you want to go ?

1. Rear doors welded shut to turn it from 4 door to 2 door?
2. Dodgy alloys with rubber band tyres?
3. FWD?
Are those the three answers you were hoping everyone would guess?

What sort of fool would convert a Mk1 Escort to FWD? Must be the nemesis of David Bignold and Bill Payne paying them back for converting all those
Mk3 Escorts to RWD

Mark Chandler got the last.
4 door MK1 Escort welded up to a 2 door.
Converted to FWD.
1.8TD Escort engine and box.
Just wrong.

Even worse then, because if you really wanted to install an agricultural, underpowered, smokey diesel engine into a Mk1, the 1.8TD will bolt up to a
Type9 so would have made a pretty simple conversion.

Indeed the 2 door conversion is a bit dodgy, and welding the doors is a cop out.
Fitting a diesel engine isn't the end of the world, but a fwd conversion? Why the f?

It never ceases to amaze me with builds like this that the amount of effort involved in carrying it out could've been better utilized. What a
waste.
