Spot the difference! the first is the link you should be using, the second is the one you are using! Unfortunately cos it includes the https they are
both live links, but if you just copy the first into the avatar url box then it will work.

Cheers Joel,
Do you think it is too big?

General rule was 250px wide. Yours is 300px. Change it if you can be bothered, if not wait until someone complains.

If you reduce it to 250 pixels wide it will improve the quality a little (less jagged edges)

I would have thought 5 cms was plenty.
Surely it's the content of the post that's the important bit.
Half the screen taken up with avatars is OTT, IMHO.

Now 250pixels. It seems the smaller I make it, the more pixelated it becomes. Don't know why. I started with a high res photo.

Which prog did you use to reduce it's size and which file format? That might have a bearing on the jaggies.
Cheers,
Raz

It's a jpg file, and I used the software that came with the Olympus camera called Camedia. Would it be better in a different format?
Sorted. Saved original as btm file, shrunk it in Paint program, then saved it back to jpg. No jagged edges, and the right size. Thanks for you
help.

Some of the camera software have some strange ways. If you use Corel Draw you can export the pic to a jpg and choose the resolution as well as image
size.
If you email the original pic to me I will sort it for you if you like.

Thanks for the offer, and for the help, but it is sorted out now, to my satisfaction at least.
