YCWCYAQFTB

Your Curiocity Will Cost You A Quid For The Blind

Worked every time, no-one would be as tight not to donate to the worthy cause, especially with all the knowing locals watching!!

Don't you hate nit picking bastards......

but......

very few of those listed are acronyms...most are abbreviations

An acronym has to create a new/separate word..

NASA
TWAIN
SNAFU
ASCII
FUBAR

are acronyms....they are said as words

but....

BTW
ATB
ROTFLMAO
WTF

etc are not, they are abbreviations because you sound each letter and don't say them as a word.

Right...where else can I go to annoy someone...

ATB TTFN YMMV

You certainly didn't RTFL (read the f****g list) as RTFM is on it.

It wasn't a comprehensive list, that one I have and it's over 10 pages long.

Note to all: I really don't know when to leave well alone. I tried to get clever with the mods, then when they gave me a lifeline to see the error of my ways, I tried to incite more trouble via u2u. So now I'm banned, never to return again. They should have done it years ago!

Ahhh Time, that elusive element, the more you look for it, the less there is!

What with business, home jobs, wish list for the car, sons business, garden etc etc. I need a infinite probability drive to get me back to where I started

Hmmm, I've been thinking about this, and I'm not convinced, in my opinion an acronym does not have to be able to be sounded out. An acronym is defined as a word formed from the first letters of a multi-word name, the definition of it that I found did not make any comment that it had to be pronounceable as a single word. Also your definition causes a lot of confusion - is SCSI an acronym? It's hardly pronounceable in any traditional sense, but it's still said as a single word, but that could be applied to a lot of abbreviations/acronyms - ROFL (roffle) LMAO (le-mow) ADSL (adsell), you get the point.

Kingr...

"ac·ro·nym [ ákrnim ] (plural ac·ro·nyms)
noun

word formed from initials: a word formed from the initials or other parts of several words, for example, “NATO,” from the initial letters of “North Atlantic Treaty Organization”

Taken from Encarta World dictionary....I'm convinced..
