looking up some info the ford cosworth is nearly 25 years old now.
bugatti made this car as a sort of technical exercise to prove they could. but when you see a ford focus tuned giving that much power from a 2 litre
engine, you sort of wonder if it was worth it. they could have got a lot more power surely? or does all the fancy stuff they've thrown at it
mean its more reliable than that cosworth, will the bugatti go a lot further between engine rebuilds, will that cosworth only last a few races before
being rebuilt etc
Yeah the Veyron would be far more reliable. The technical excercise was to get over 250mph in comfort wasn't it? How fast in straight line speed
is the focus?

800bhp is all great pub talk - but i bet its got a hoooooge turbo and drives like an on/off switch. Probably a fairly narrow power band once it does
manage to get spooled up - no doubt totally useless on the road.
Veyron for me please

Then again you never know, there could always be a low pressure turbo to cover the big one's lag...

Possibly - but doubt it would be needed on a race car that no doubt had a close ratio box and doesnt really need the power low down.
So what racing was it then Blake?? 800bhp Cossie Focus's sounds like the sort of thing you'd see at the Rallycross.

it was in the northern sports and super slaoons. so there was
-2 focuses, 700 and 800 bhp 4wd, 2
-mk3 fiesta in similar spec, not sure what power but it was 4wd with big turbo,
-a few 7s, with cosworths and vauxhalls
can't really remember what else. really just a mix of cars that don't fit into anything else.

..........sorry but.....just buy an Ultima!!!!
Considerably quicker than a veyron (proven! )
Lower running costs.
Simple engine with easy to buy parts.
Carburettor, no fuel injection or anything much else to go wrong.
WAY lighter than a veyron.
With twin turbos, as being built my John Sleath at the mo, makes 1500 hp, none of this poxy 1000hp rubbish, and still perfectly reliable over long
distance.
Build an 800hp one for around 45k or buy it for 80k................................
no brainer really
Retro RWD is the way forward...........automotive fabrication, car restoration, sheetmetal work, engine conversion
retro car restoration and tuning
