It's a 'lite' version of what they sell already.
There's plenty of fully functional 'demo' versions of Solidworks about, so don't get conned into paying out the 'small
fee'.
Find a uni student doing engineering, and if they haven't got a copy of Solidworks, they'll know someone who does!

Do you know the requirements to qualify as an engineering student? Do you have to be fulltime etc?
I'm currently doing a degree through the Open University, and would love all the student licence software I can get my hands on! I downloaded a
student version of Alias, which looks pretty awesome but I haven't had time to see what limitations it might have.

So what were peoples thoughts of this one then?

Normal is getting dressed in clothes that you buy for work and driving through traffic in a
car that you are still paying for - in order to get to the job you need to pay for the clothes
and the car, and the house you leave vacant all day so you can afford to live in it.

My work bought 2 copies, so I have a pukka version running at home. Alibre works fine, a few litttle niggles to start with, but V9 seems to have
sorted most of them. Very easy to learn.
Don'[t know if the've changed any of the restrictions in the free version. The 5 part maximum for assemblies is a bit limiting.
Cheers
