A different method?
Instead of making this thread any bigger (and I assume using lots of space on Chris's server), how about just uploading your avatars to your own
photos section and then sending your avatar link to that?
If you show the photo then right click on it and cut/paste the link into your control panel avatar entry that should do the trick.
Then when you get bored with your current one you can delete it from the photo section and upload another. You don't even have to change the link if
you keep the same image name i.e. myavatar.jpg 
Just a thought.

Kin ell, don't work any more...
Cant seem to upload an avatar as this link describes. Done it once ok. I've tried it direct, and now tried the photo album method - any ideas?
