Archive help
Afternoon. I've been trying to upload some pics into my archive, but it keeps coming up with sorry! unsupported file type. The pics are normal
jpeg files. Any one have a guess at what's going wrong? Or is it easier to just use a photobucket/flicr type account?

Make sure the name is totally unique - this is a 'feature' of this site... if someone else has put a file called DCF0001.jpg in their
area, no-one else can use that name in their own area.
Try changing the name of one file and see if matters improve.

Ah, I didn't realise that! I thought it was just the description that had to be unique.

It usually puts a (1) or (2) etc after it for you.
The unsupported file i get this sometimes, if the large size is too large !

for spome reason, it also seems to take exception to files saves as .JPG instead of .jpg (yeah, it doesn't seem to like capital letters)

don't write OT on a new thread title, you're creating the topic, everything you write is very much ON topic!

Not so.... I have a mixture of .JPG and .jpg's in my archive.......
Usually its the unique name that is the culprit (upload name rather than the description).....

hmm, i'm sure i've had problems with capital letters before. ah well... the file name is always unique on mine though, i very rarewly
rename them, and i use my phone camera, and i've never deleted anything off it, so it can't be using the same name twice
bah, i don't know

That could be it then, it's not unique to you, ie your pic archive, but the whole photo archive.....
So..if I had an uploaded pic already called DSC1222, you couldn't up load yours if you had the same....

ah, could be it.
somethingi've noticed though, is sometimes i'll put a picture in my archive, but the site renames the file name itself. by sticking a 2 or
a 3 in front of it. why does it do that?
its not a problem, just wondering like
