Quite normal with a BEC. You can cut the sound a bit with a TRT prop.

Do not worry, as you master driving it you can reduce the clunk greatly.
clutchless changes going up, and lifting the revs slightly using the clutch on the way down.

You will always get the clonk with a bec but a TRT prop improves it.
Dont get it from autoprop they are rubbish got my second prop from http://www.baileymorris.co.uk/
and the quality and service is excellent unlike autoprop!
Edit to say: Mark is spot on with the above statement the more you drive it and improve you technique the better it gets!

If it were mine, id look at a cush drive flange at the diff, and taking out the backlash in the diff with shims etc. Thats after id adjusted the
clutch to make sure it doesnt drag.
I dont know a great deal about BEC's but when you select first on a bike you often get a clonk if the chain is slightly slack or the clutch
drags a little.
Kindest Regards,
Richard.

I think a TRT prop is a "torque resilient tube". It has an inner tube connected to the engine, and an outer tube connected to the diff.
Sandwiched between these two tubes is rubber, which flexes and allows the two tubes to move slightly in relation to each other.
I think!
