Barnett vs EBC Kevlar clutches
How much difference is there between the barnett and the ebc clutch plate kits for bike engines.
I am just looking for a clutch plate kit for my zx9r indy, and i have found both. The barnett is £112 and the EBC is £68 and you get free springs.
Which one would people go for, i am favouring EBC due to price and the material is kevlar, same as the barnett?

EBC clutches aren't the best. Your best bet is to buy Kawasaki OEM plates.

What Coose said, we have tried both and very quickly went back to oem, they just seemed to be a false economy as we got through them so much quicker.
Barnett clutch springs are the mutts though.

Ok thanks andy, i will try the barnett springs first of all to see if that solves the problem. If not, the OEM clutch, do you sell these?

The only time I have suffered from clutch slip was when I used a Barnett Kevlar clutch kit. After that I used OEM plates and have never had a problem
since.
OEM plates and heavy duty springs = job done

OEM plates offer JUST the right amount of slippage, wear and durability. Barnett springs are also what you need.
You also need to replace the whole pack, frictions and steels. Once the thing slips, your steels turn purple.....
Kevlar plates offer no slippage, the friction is immense. Great for carpark do'nuts, but the uncontrollable take-up isn't what you want on
the road or track. Mind you, if you destroyed the last set due to carpark do'nutting... buy kevlar.

My Barnett clutch plates were shite!
Would never touch them again with a barge pole.
Opinions are like backsides..
Everyone has one, nobody wants to hear it and only other peoples stink!
