Stop emails for new post.. help

I'm sure there was a tick box somewhere to stop an email being sent each time theres a new post to a subscribed thread... just cant find it now.

Where can I stop them please?

You need to 'unsubscribe'

Control Panel >Subscriptions, tick box of topic you want to unsubscribe, scroll down to bottom, >button 'deleted selected subscriptions'.....

Fozzie

edit to add....
Must type faster......

Thanks

However.. I did think you could subscribe to a thread and select NOT to be notified by email. I do want to watch the threads when I log on but dont want all the junk email notifications.

Nice colour car too

Well try this then...

It is a page where all posts and replies are for the current day (24 hours...I think)

http://www.locostbuilders.co.uk/today.php

The point of subscribing to a thread is so that you will be notified when people have posted...

Locostbuilders does NOT send junk email

Fozzie you have taken the Junk bit out of context. The POINT why I use the subscribe is as a bookmark which I'm sure many do so I can remember WHICH threads I have contributed too or are interested in so that next time I go on I can catch up. That is a different thing than wanting to be informed every single time a new reply comes on so my box gets filled with emails that say the same thing which starts looking like junk and my mobile dings every few minutes with another email.

To have the option of subscribing but NOT getting mails cannot be too much to ask.

The easy way to do that is to find one of your posts (any post will do) and hit the Find button underneath your message, or to press Search and put FFTS in the "by (username):" box.

Its seems that theres a lot of complicated solutions that dont actually do what the subscribe page does perfectly.. i.e.

It shows a list of threads I'm watching
It will show threads I contribute to.
It shows the No of replies, date, time and last person.

All this on one page. IT WORKS PERFECTLY!!

I would just like the choice of if I choose to to go on that page and see what is new or choose if I want or need to have an email sent to me every time someone puts a new post. If I get 30 emails throughout the day I cant go on as soon as they arrive to check out what it is. I wait until I next log on and go to my subscribed page and it gives great detail of any NEW posts to look at.

I'm sure that to ask for a choice isn't a lot. Just a tick to say "would you like to be informed by email of posts your subscribed to Yes/No.

After all.. there is a box that says would you like to receive newsletters from admin.

I have really solved it now so simply but its a shame that I had to add a letter to my email address so it is incorrect.
