I log on for a while on this site and look in the various posts and at some point it just logs me out, I go to post a reply and find I've written an essay and can't post it as I've been logged off... Then I can't be bothered to re-write it... Any suggestions to why this happens... keith.

If you are going to write a thesis, do it in Word, then copy and paste

Write your reply as normal, but before you post hold the left button down on your mouse to highlight what you want to post, then click the right button on the mouse & you'll get a little menu where you select "COPY". Then go to submit your post. If you ar'nt logged in & you lose it you can then login & go to type it out again but this time instead of typing your reply you right click the mouse to get another menu & select "PASTE". What you saved earlier will reappear!

I know how to do this cos I asked when someone told me to copy & paste something & I did'nt know how!

Or use Firefox and load the 'Lazarus' plug-in.

If you fill in a form (like the topic entry) and fall out before you send it, you stand a very good chance of using Lazarus to reload your text.

It's saved me a load of retyping quite a few times...
