sump clearence

Whats the minimum clearence from sump to floor on a zetec black top ppl would recomend?And whats the best solution to get more clearence if needed.Ive alredy a shortend sump fitted.my clearence is 2"floor to sump.

I thought mine was low at 3". I think most run about 4"





How long can i resist the temptation to drop a V8 in?

ive asked before and i recall people advising if you can run over a house brick, you will be fine.

2.5 inch .

but that is low.





measure twice, cut once, scrap it, start again.

2" is too low mate, are your tyres pumped up to the right pressure and shockers set up right mate? Around my neck of the wood with speed humps I need all of my 4"'s.

The max legal height for speed bumps is 100mm or 4".... so that should be minimum for clearance.

And that normally means chopping the sump level with the bell-housing to keep the engine low in the bay. I have yet to chop the sump and are close to 100mm so jacked the suspension up a little, this is not ideal! Sounds like you will need to get the sump chopped..
