locostbuilder keeps logging me out

why does locost builders keep making me log in?is there an automatic time out on it.i start reading a post then go to look at another and get logged out.starting to get a bit fed up with it.i would like to stay logged in until i personally log out....

It does the same to me every few weeks. Not spotted a pattern yet, seems quite random.

If I've got this right...

When you log into this site a cookie gets set on your machine. When you go to this site afterwards it looks to see what state the cookie is in - if it's set to allow you straight in then in you go. Most cookies have an expiry time on them, so most people will have to log in every month or two.

If you don't have a cookie, or you've blocked cookies, then you'll get asked to log in every time.

But anyone should feel free to correct me if I've got this wrong!

As for allowing cookies - in Firefox it's Edit -> Preferences -> Privacy tab -> "Accept cookies"
(I can't comment on other browsers!)
