IVA and MOT's

Can anyone offer any advise on whether Ishould MOT my RH before IVA? Can I drive the car to MOT Station like you can for IVA?

It's my understanding that you don't want to do that as once you get your IVA you shouldn't need an MOT for three years, but once your on the MOT system you need to get one every year.

I could be wrong though.

You are correct, it causes nothing but trouble if you MOT before IVA.
Don't do it, it serves no purpose.
Your car does not exist until formally registered, which you can't do until you pass IVA, you have no number plate and your vin number is not registered, the MOT recording system is much more automated than it was and also linked to other databases such as police anpr.

There are garages that advertise " Pre-MOT Checks " but don't actually do an MOT. Never really seen the point of that but if if you want some reassurance that all is well before going to IVA that might be your answer. You couldn't legally drive there of course.

I had to have an MOT after 1 year of passing my SVA even after being told by the DVLA inspector
that I would not require one for 3 years. Again inconsistances
